The Beader's Dream - Sold at Clarion Spectacular Bear Exhibit

Queen of Beads

Last night I had the strangest dream
I was the queen of beads
The beads they sparkeled and they gleamed
While flying all 'round me

Lovely beads of every kind
Whirled at my command
Glass and gold, silver and stone
Were right there at my hand

And when I woke my heart was filled
With joy and gleaming light
The memory of those flying beads
still fills me with delight

This set of 5 bears depicting the 1920's Jazz age was commissioned for the Korean Teddy Bear Museum to open in April 2001. The musicians were armatured for great poseability as were the dancers.

Old World Santa

The bear is 29" tall and made of mohair. He has glass eyes, faux suede paw pads and wired arms. The coat is trimmed in mink with pewter clasps. He also wears a gold accented vest and chenille pants. On the belt he wears a Polar Express bell, a pocket watch and a silvered snowflake. The tree lights up.

The sack of toys is brown velvet and the toys include an elephant and a small bear that I made. Other toys are a dolly, a boat, a drum, and airplane, a train, a nutcracker and many more.

The staff is a branch from my garden with a great lantern.

My thanks to the Eames for inspiring this piece. He will be living with them.
